Innovations in Health Information Management

ISAAC is an innovative software system that puts people in charge of their own health care by allowing them to enter their own symptom scores on a touch-screen kiosk either in a clinic, or via the internet.

In addition to enlisting the patient as a partner, the program allows clinicians direct access to patient symptom information, which results in better disease management.

Based on results from the test program, 70% of patients preferred using the ISAAC program instead of traditional paper measurement systems – and clinicians reported that being able to detect symptoms in real time and track symptoms over time represents an important advance in care management.
