The Mobile Unit of the NorWest Community Health Centre

To help ensure the people of Northern Ontario have regular, ongoing access to primary health care, NorWest Community Health Centres has created a one-stop mobile health clinic that travels to remote areas.

Thanks to the mobile health unit, residents of Northern communities no longer have to travel long distances to be treated for cuts, coughs, colds, fever, earaches, infections, sexual health and other common ailments.

In addition, the mobile health unit takes preventative health education programs on the road and also provides specialized foot care appointments services on an ongoing basis. To round out its full-service offerings, the mobile health unit team also includes a Community Health Worker who can accelerate referrals to other specialized health care as required.
