Important News Regarding Long-Term Care Home Accommodation Rates

Co-Payment rates to remain frozen until July 31, 2006

To ensure that resident co-payment rates remain in line with the general rate of inflation, the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care is continuing the current freeze in accommodation rates. The current freeze in rates will remain in place until July 31, 2006.

Accommodation Rates for July 1, 2005 to July 31, 2006

TYPE OF ACCOMMODATION	DAILY RATE	MONTHLY RATE
For Long-Stay Residents
Basic accommodation	$48.69	$1480.99
Semi-private accommodation	$56.69	$1724.32
Private accommodation	$66.69	$2028.49
For Short-Stay Residents
	$31.67	Not applicable

If your income is below $1596.99 per month you may be eligible for a reduction in your co-payment rate. In order to apply for a reduction or to maintain eligibility for a rate reduction if you are already receiving one, you must complete an "Application for Reduction in Long-Term Care Home Accommodation Fees".

For more information on co-payment rates or to apply for a rate reduction, please speak with the Administrator of your home or contact your local Ministry Regional Office.
