McGuinty Government Improving Care at Long-Term Care Homes
The McGuinty government is investing $191 million so that long-term care homes can hire 600 more nurses and 1,400 new front-line staff, such as personal support workers, dietitians, activity co-ordinators and therapists.
The enhanced care funding will enable homes to meet new care standards set out in the McGuinty government's action plan, which include 24/7 on-site access to a registered nurse and ensuring residents receive at least two baths a week. Listed below is a breakdown of the annualized funding :
