NEWS
The Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care has directed the Toronto Central Community Care Access Centre to suspend admissions to the Leisureworld Caregiving Centre (O’Connor Gate) for a period of 30 days.
This action is being taken due to numerous areas of non-compliance with provincial long-term care home legislation. Leisureworld Caregiving Centre (O’Connor Gate) must submit a plan to address areas of non-compliance to the ministry by end of day on May 22nd, 2008.
The ministry is continuing to conduct inspections at the long-term care home to ensure that residents are not placed at risk. If the ministry is satisfied that Leisureworld Caregiving Centre (O’Connor Gate) has achieved sustained compliance with provincial long-term care home legislation prior to the end of the 30 day period, it may lift the suspension of admissions.
